Your First Act Towards Recovery is ...
Finding the Right Drug Rehab Center
By Jason Cobb
Are you a drug addict? You can't or won't admit it to yourself? Though you believe you can stop your drug habit at any time. Which is your drug of choice? Cocaine? Crack Cocaine? Ecstasy? Heroin? Methamphetamine? Whichever it is, you know that it's time to stop.
Easy to say, but what do I do? Selecting a qualified drug rehab center is the most important act you can make at this time and one of the more difficult decisions to do. Congratulations, inquiring about kicking the habit is a vital step towards health.
The truth is no one wants to be an addict. The addict does not wake up one morning and say, I want to destroy everything in my pathway; I want to doom my self, forever remain without money; I will rely on anyone who will support me or my habit until I get very sick and die, or wind up imprisoned for a drug, or alcohol or violent offense.
What can you do? Go online and make a list of few rehabilitation centers. Check with your local hospital for recommendations. Call a Drug Rehab hotline. There are several you'll find on the web. Call the places listed below. Take the first step.
Drug - Rehabs, is one place you can call. Their toll free number is 866-762-3712, and they will refer you to treatment centers. Drug Rehab Center Hotline at 800-501-9330 is another place to start. Generally, there's no charge for referrals. Better yet, go online at www.drug-rehab-center-hotline.com and seek out your State's Substance Abuse Services.
Not all alcohol and drug rehab centers are the same. Different philosophies staff skills, program options and costs play a role Choosing the right rehab center f is not easy. Most of us don't know or understand what to look for. Often we make pot luck decisions and sometimes that works.
When you finally gather a few quality Drug Rehab facilities, ask questions. Not all programs and rehabilitation centers are alike. Get the facts, the costs, the settings, in patient or out patient, rate of success, treatment programs, medical credentials and accreditation, staff credentials, residential short stay or long stays. You should expect to receive answers before you make a decision. No one says this will be easy. Accept upfront that there is no easy road to end addiction; but taking one step at a time will get you to recovery.
Ask questions, research and look for the following before you make a decision on the best Drug Rehab center for you:
1. What is the philosophy of the alcohol or drug rehab center on addiction?
2. What are the credentials of staff and management?
3. Is the rehab center you're checking out different from others or similar?
4. What does the treatment cost?
5. Does your insurance cover the cost?
6. What is the length of time to complete treatment?
7. Will you feel comfortable with the majority of the people in treatment. For example, age, men, women, socio economic level?
8. Is the rehab center accredited?
9. How are you transitioned back into regular society?
10. What is the rate of success of the drug or alcohol rehab center?
Good luck and good health!
